Lahore Smart City Pros and Cons
Let’s discuss a few positive and negative aspects of Lahore Smart City or Lahore Smart City Pros and cons. After success in Capital Smart City Islamabad, the renowned developers Habib Rafiq (PVT) limited set their eyes on the second smart city in Pakistan and first in Punjab. so let’s start with the pros of Lahore Smart City.
Lahore Smart City Location
Since Lahore is a very high dense city so we probably don’t want to wait in traffic every day. Lahore Smart City is located just a little outside city of Lahore at the bypass near Kala Shah Kaku.
It is also accessible from Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and Grand Trunk Road. Lahore Smart City is not just easily accessible for residents of Lahore but for other cities of Pakistan as well.
Just like Capital Smart City Islamabad, Lahore Smart city is also designed to be divided into districts and in each district, there will be Mosques schools and gardens. It will be eco-friendly and will provide sustainable living.
One of the districts of Lahore Smart City is silicon valley in which all the technical and IT work will be managed. Corporate offices will be provided in this sector. Software houses warehouses and technology operational offices will be there as well. Other than these this sector just like any other sector it will have residential plots and mosques.
Lahore Smart City is also all set to bring smart and intelligent features to its residences like intelligent traffic management systems and smart parking. Intelligent Traffic management control will have smart traffic lights working upon the density of traffic in each lane. Pathways will be pedestrian and cyclist favorable.
Safety and Security
The first question that arises in our mind living in Pakistan is our security concern. Lahore Smart City is providing soundproof and smart security which includes video surveillance of all the city with intelligent cameras with facial coverage. Lahore Smart City will monitor all the activities to minimize the crime ratio.
Cons of Lahore Smart City
Since everything has pros and cons so does this. let’s discuss a few cons/Negative aspects of Lahore Smart City.
Not yet Launched
Although Lahore Smart City is all set to launch still there is no date confirmed yet. This is not such a negative thing to be worried about but still many things count on the launch date. Authorities are working their days and night off to complete their work within the given time frame but still, you have to be patient and wait until the launch date is announced and it is properly launched.
Division of Lahore Smart City
Lahore Smart City is over an area of 55000 kanals and already acquire 20,000 kanals on Lahore bypass which is more than enough for a housing society and the city is in 2 blocks.
- Overseas Block
- Executive Block
Although it is quite sure that the city will develop rapidly and there would be many more blocks but there is an immediate need for more blocks as there are many investors ready to invest just like Capital Smart City Islamabad.
High Maintenance Cost
The Project is led by international firms like Surbana Jurong (SJ), Cracknell, and Troon Golf. This indicates that the infrastructure will be on international standards and the city is going to be the first smart city in the Province of Punjab so the Maintenance cost can be slightly higher than normal corporate housing societies in Pakistan. But not unaffordable. The city will be the first-of-its-kind city in Pakistan with all the smart features and facilities not just for the residence of the city but climate-friendly for the globe as well.
